My 21st birthday...the beginnings....

As with anything I do, even celebrating my birthday turns into an adventure.

It all started off when I found a bottle of pink champagne in the wine rack under about an inch of dust. Being the Girl Scout that I am, I decided that the fastest way to chill the champagne would be to submerge it in my brother's thermos he uses for baseball games.

classy, huh? (p.s. please excuse my horrible picture quality...it's an old camera phone)

After it had chilled sufficiently it took about 10 minutes and 3 people to try to open the champagne bottle. I have a fear of things hitting my head, so I spent most of the time preparing to duck and scream.

Do note at this time that the bottle says "pink"

Does this look pink to you?

Us either. So, we dumped it out and broke out Rachel and Phil's wedding wine.

It makes me happy. Thanks Rachel and Phil!

It was at this point that I pointed out to Caleb that we had cookie cake decorated like cookie monster sitting on the kitchen table. I've never seen him so excited for blue frosting. He yelled "CRAZY EYES!" and stared at the cookie cake. It was quite entertaining.

Then Daniel broke out the Chardonnay (just for a wine tasting, we didn't have full glasses or anything...even though the second picture suggests different)

Caleb then decided to make the candles in the cookie cake into a "21" shape:

And finally, we topped it off with a classic:

I also rocked out to some Justin Bieber songs in my pjs around our computer room, but there...uh...aren't any pictures of that....

I thought of another adventure for my list!

- Learn to make a fancy coffee drink (I haven't decided yet which kind, latte or cappuccino).

This should be interesting considering my previous experience with a coffee pot.

I foresee an interesting story out of this one.

Maybe I should also add "ride in a hot air balloon"....

My new blog!

This is my journey through the next decade of my life. I turn 21 in just 4 days. In effort to make the most of my life, I've decided to create a blog dedicated to the thirty things I want to accomplish in my life by my thirtieth birthday (omg that's not even a decade away...)

I'm having trouble compiling a list of 30 things I want to accomplish in the next 9 years. Here is what I have so far:

- read all of Jane Austen's novels
- earn my Master's degree
- publish my book
- audition for American Idol (just to say I did)
- kiss a dolphin
- explore Europe
- read the Bible all the way through
- run a marathon (again, just to say I did)
- buy a truck
- be one of the reenactors in the Gettysburg 150th anniversary
- ride a camel

Any help in building this list would be appreciated.
